Can I submit my Express Entry application myself, without a consultant?

Yes. IRCC lets you represent yourself, and most applicants do. Express Entry Builder gives you the questions in the portal's order, reads your documents to fill in answers, checks the file against IRCC's published instructions, and builds the PDFs. If you want a professional to look before you submit, a licensed consultant can review your finished package inside the app.

Is Express Entry Builder affiliated with IRCC or the Government of Canada?

Accepted Answer

No. It is independent software with no connection to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The only place to submit an application is your own IRCC secure account, and we never ask for your GCKey or portal password.

Is this immigration advice?

Accepted Answer

No. The app shows you information from IRCC's own instruction guides and checks your answers and documents against them. It does not tell you which program to pick or whether you qualify. In Canada only lawyers, Québec notaries and licensed consultants (RCICs) can give immigration advice for a fee.

How long do I have to submit after an Invitation to Apply?

60 calendar days from the day the invitation is issued, with no extension. If it expires, you go back into the pool and wait for another round. The app shows the day count on your home screen from the moment you enter your invitation date.

What documents do I need for my Express Entry application?

Accepted Answer

Typically your passport, language test results, Educational Credential Assessment, proof of funds, police certificates for every country you lived in for six months or more since age 18, a medical exam, employment reference letters and digital photos, plus civil documents for your partner and children. Your exact list depends on your answers, so the app builds your personal checklist from IRCC's instructions as you go.

What happens if my Express Entry application is incomplete?

IRCC runs a completeness check first. An application missing a required document or answer is returned without being assessed, and the invitation is used up. The app's check lists what is missing or does not match before you submit and points at the IRCC instruction behind each finding, so you can fix it yourself.

Do I really have to list every address and job for the last ten years?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The personal history section covers the last ten years, or since age 18, with no unexplained gaps: where you lived, what you did, and your trips. The app puts the ten years on one timeline so any empty month shows up before IRCC asks about it.

Why does IRCC limit each upload to 4 MB, and how do I fit my documents?

Each upload slot in the portal accepts one file of up to 4 MB, so several pages often have to be merged and compressed into one PDF. The app does this for every slot and adds a cover and contents page, so you upload each file as it comes out.

How much does Express Entry Builder cost?

It is free during early access. Ask for early access and we will let you in. IRCC's own government fees are separate and paid in your IRCC account.

Which Express Entry programs does it cover?

Accepted Answer

Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades, with or without a provincial nomination. Tell the app your program and invitation and it shows only the sections and documents that apply to you.

Can I include my spouse and children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each accompanying family member gets their own tasks, history and document slots, and their pages are packaged separately the way the portal expects.

Where is my data stored, and who can see my documents?

Accepted Answer

Your answers and files are stored in Canada. Documents are read by an AI model under an agreement that forbids training on your data, and the providers are listed in the privacy policy. Only you can see your file unless you invite a consultant to review it. You can delete everything at any time.
